5th Annual World Water Day Cocktail Hour

Celebrate World Water Day with Water for People D.C.

What Did You Do to Celebrate World Water Day 2012?

World Water Day was March 22nd – did you join the DC Water For People Committee on the 20th for their cocktail hour celebration at Ulah Bistro?  Approximately 60 people did!  We raised over $800 for Water For Peopleand collected over 115 food items which were donated to the Capital Area Food Bank.  Attendees learned about their water footprint from Kat Ridolfi from LimnoTech, heard thoughts about the ripple effect of water usage from author Alex Prud-Homme, and were told about local food needs from a representative from the Capital Area Food Bank.  Many walked away with great raffle prizes!
We’d like to thank all our raffle prize donors:  PS7, Mom’s Organic Market, Alex Prud’Homme, Kosland Science Museum, National Aquarium, Roozen Nursery, and J.J. McCracken.  We’d also like to give a special thank you to our spo nsors: Raftelis Financial Consultants and Urban Swirski and Associates, as well as Ulah Bistro for hosting our event.  And finally we’d like to thank our speakers and all attendees.  Thanks for making our celebration such a great success!
World Water Day may be over, but water issues around the world remain.
Make everyday World Water Day!
